30/11/14

Such a quiet Sunday and also a very nice day for the end of November.

Went back to work yesterday after a few days off, it wasn't as busy as i thought it would be but i suppose after black Friday a lot of people have probably run out of money, still got Cyber Monday tomorrow though which is basically an online version of black Friday (wonder how many websites are gonna crash/implement a queuing system?).

For anyone that doesn't know, Cyber Monday is a marketing term for the Monday after the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States. The term "Cyber Monday" was created by marketing companies to persuade people to shop online. The term made its debut on November 28, 2005, in a Shop.org press release entitled "'Cyber Monday Quickly Becoming One of the Biggest Online Shopping Days of the Year".[1].

So whats everyone doing today? i have done the housework and just chilling listening to 80's and 90's music on Youtube while writing this blog and catching up on a couple of survey's i had to do, not really an exciting life lol but enjoyable and i have my lovely fantastic wife and kids so what more could a man want!.

The only other things we have to do today is put up the xmas decs (oh yes Tree already up) and cook a lovely roast later :) AND JUST RELAX.

London kid by Jean Michel Jarre has just come on :) amazing song by an amazing musician.

Anyway enough of me boring you for today.

ENJOY!!!!!!

28/11/14

Well i go back to work tomorrow after a few days off, done most of what we wanted to do :).

I have been looking online at video's of people shopping in stores for the black friday event and so glad im not out shopping or at work, its just mad as to what lengths people will go to for a bargain,
i dont think any amount of aggro is worth that just for a few pounds off of an end of line item that suppliers and stores can no longer sell.
I know not all items are end of line but the majority of them are with a few top range lines thrown in for good measure, still anything that helps stores stay in business is worth doing to safeguard jobs etc.

On another note, i've been updating the movie reviews and added a few new ones since the other day if you would like to take a look, bearing in mind they are my own opinions.
Im thinking of maybe having 2 pages of film reviews, 1 for the best rated films and 1 for the rubbish films but not sure if this would work, im actually thinking of putting a small survey on here asking for opinions if anyone would be interested in filling it in?.

If i havent updated my life over the weekend i hope you all have a great weekend no matter what you are doing and will update again soon.

THANK YOU
Phil.

REMINISCING Part 2

Hello all again

Following on from yesterdays blog my secondary school years were not that great i was at the age (like most kids) that did not want to learn much as i thought i already knew everything, however if i knew then what i know now i would have bloody tried so much harder at school.

I was still quite an ill kid as a young teenager and missed a lot of lessons due to chest infections and generally being unwell, had some amazing friends at school and still keep in touch with quite a few, however as we all got older we all seemed to get married and lead our own lives, but all i can say is thank god for social networking.

I left school at 16 and walked straight into a full time job, working in a factory, think i stayed there about 2 years or so, then from there went straight into my second job which was a trainee baker, but being 18 at the time i really hated working nights so left there within about 3 or 4 months, from there i started working for a tyre company mainly just sorting out tyres occasionally going out on the vans.

For the next year i was doing my NVQ levels 1-3 in Microsoft courses which was great fun, met some really great people, and still keep in touch with one of them, then i got a job at the grand hotel in Brighton from 1996 to 1999, spent some wonderful years there with some amazing people and learnt so much, its a great place to work but at the time the hours were very long and very low pay...

Then in 1999 i started at Tesco and been there ever since...

In between,i married young, had 3 great children and divorced for various reasons, and a few years later met a wonderful woman through work and got married 4 years ago and had another child almost 3 years ago and then this year my firstborn gave me my first grandson.

Thats basically my life written on to 2 pages (well i dont think i will be able to publish a proper autobigraphy).

Anyway on another note i have started hunting for romantic poems and have now put some up on my pages at the right of my blog, there are some wonderful poems there with many more to follow.

Hope you are enjoying my blog and please remember to share via Facebook and Twitter. (i have a link on my main blog page to share)

Enjoy your day

Phil

REMINISCING

Good afternoon all,
Today is absolutely FREEZING outside, you can definitely tell that winter is upon us..

Managed to get all the windows done yesterday inside and out so am happy aboput that as they look so much better now, will be booking a window cleaner now to be doing them on a regular basis (saves me doing them again) lol.

What do you all think of the new look blog background???
i think its lighter and more colourful than the last but would love to have some feedback on what you all think of my blog, i only wish i had started a diary as a child and re-entered all the info in here so it could have been a complete autobiography.

I must admit i can remember quite a few things about my childhood, however a lot more could have been remembered if i had done a daily diary, i totally recommend that all young people do one as it can be very beneficial in later life, the biggest problem when we are children is that most of us do not look to the future or think about what we could be doing in 30 years time etc.

I do know 1 or 2 people that actually do have diaries from the age of 10 or 11 and i really admire them for that as they took time out everyday of their childhood to write this (at the time) boring piece of information which in later life has become a very important source of information and remembering.

As a baby/child i was very sick so spent most of my early years at the Royal Alexandra hospital in Brighton and when i wasn't an in-patient i had many out-patient appointments and i remember this fantastic rocking horse in the out-patients department that i used to love so much they were hard times for my parents due to me being so unwell and having major operations in first couple of years of my life but for me personally the memories were great, the strange thing is i can still remember the nurses and surgeons that kept me alive, i can still smell the wonderful bacon and eggs that i used to have for breakfast in hospital in the late 70's i even remember there was another child who i think was in hospital almost as much as me but i cannot remember the name or anything, on another note though i remember my nurse leaving me alone for a little while and i climbed out the window on the 2nd or 3rd floor and gave everyone a panic attack and the time my nurse bought a calender or something that she had been struggling to find and had searched many shops and many weeks trying to find it, she left it on her desk and i got hold of it and ripped it up (lol) she was pretty devastated, but i was only about 3 and a bit of a terror :).

Most important memories of all though is my late father used to take me down to the local park where we used to have loads of fun and we used to pop into the greengrocers on the way to buy some plums, these are great memories to hold onto, i think i was about 8 or 9 at the time?

I can still remember my first computer which was an Atari 2600, ok im showing my age now but how many of you readers have actually heard or remember this great machine???

I know this is a slim chance but if any of you were born in the 70's and were in the Royal Alexandra Hospital for most of your young lives or you know anyone that was, please let me know, also ANYONE else that was born with a lot of problems at birth, if you are reading this please get in touch it would be great to hear from you and see how it has affected your lives etc, NOT only am i doing this blog as a sort of diary but i am hoping to make new friends from around the world.

Hope you all have a fantastic day
Phil.

23/11/14

Hi and welcome to another post from my life.

I am now starting to get my blog sorted as i want it and if you look on the right hand side i have now set up links about me, and films and tv shows reviews, which i will be updating almost all the time and adding new content, the films/tv shows link will show only films and tv shows that i have watched and there will be a review with each film/tv show, i feel its better to do reviews from films/tv shows just seen rather than reviews from months ago.....

If anyone has seen any films recently and would like to write your own reviews please let me know and i will add them and also give you the credit for them.

On another note its Sunday morning and the weather is atrocious with rain and wind, the wifes gone out so may just do the housework and chill watching more films lol..

Ive now also got a few days off work so will be spending that having a winter clean/washing the windows etc, no peace for the wicked eh?.

Oh well hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend and hope you are enjoying reading my blog?
If you do have any comments/suggestions please let me know.

Thanks
Phil.

FRIDAY 21/11/14

Well hey ho its Friday again, seems to come around so quick, and only 5 more weekends until Christmas.

I have found a site that has some great money saving vouchers and also they do a blog with like flash sales and toys and stuff at rock bottom prices, the site is called playpennies and it really is worth taking a look especially as Christmas is coming round so fast.

Dont forget everybody that next Friday  28/11/14 is black Friday where certain shops and online companies for 24 hours only do massive savings on certain items im not sure of the full list this year but i do know that AMAZON, ARGOS, VERY.CO.UK, JOHN LEWIS AND CURRY'S are all getting involved this year,

Ive just started reading APACHE by ED MACY, it seems to be a really good book so far and is very in depth, the book is about ED MACY himself and his time in Afghanistan flying APACHE helicopters etc will do a more in depth review once i have finished the book.

Im still looking to find the best way of making extra cash online or even doing some genuine homework...if anyone knows of a company that does not charge you and brings work to your door and collects please let me know as i am extremely interested in doing this type of work.....
i dont mind if its putting pens together or envelopes or leaflet sorting that sort of thing..

I hope everyone has a great Friday and thank you to everyone tha looks at my blog, please share

Phil x

been a while

Well its been quite a while since I last blogged, partly because we were busy with holiday/moving...partly cos I forgot about the blog lol and partly cos I haven't had much to talk about.
So whats happened these last 5 months or so????

Well we have now moved to a ground floor 3bed flat and have been busy sorting out getting it how we want etc, my health has improved quite a bit but still getting chest infections/asthma..had a full lung function test done a while back and consultants have decided I have not got copd so its just the asthma that's causing most of the problems.

Can't believe its only 5 weeks till xmas, we are completely done, all wrapped and looking forward to it immensely, ellie says she is gonna have the best Xmas ever :).

On another note I have been catching up with various TV shows recently and was completely surprised as to how good 24 is with kiefer sutherland, I'm almost finished the 2nd season and I'm on the edge of my seat every episode, the storylines are so real and possible and the twists in the storyline are constant, if any of you have never seen this show then seriously its a must watch.

I'm looking at restarting this blog properly again with various themes such as film and TV show reviews and best ways to make/save money, best buys etc...

Please watch this space.
