REMINISCING

Good afternoon all,
Today is absolutely FREEZING outside, you can definitely tell that winter is upon us..

Managed to get all the windows done yesterday inside and out so am happy aboput that as they look so much better now, will be booking a window cleaner now to be doing them on a regular basis (saves me doing them again) lol.

What do you all think of the new look blog background???
i think its lighter and more colourful than the last but would love to have some feedback on what you all think of my blog, i only wish i had started a diary as a child and re-entered all the info in here so it could have been a complete autobiography.

I must admit i can remember quite a few things about my childhood, however a lot more could have been remembered if i had done a daily diary, i totally recommend that all young people do one as it can be very beneficial in later life, the biggest problem when we are children is that most of us do not look to the future or think about what we could be doing in 30 years time etc.

I do know 1 or 2 people that actually do have diaries from the age of 10 or 11 and i really admire them for that as they took time out everyday of their childhood to write this (at the time) boring piece of information which in later life has become a very important source of information and remembering.

As a baby/child i was very sick so spent most of my early years at the Royal Alexandra hospital in Brighton and when i wasn't an in-patient i had many out-patient appointments and i remember this fantastic rocking horse in the out-patients department that i used to love so much they were hard times for my parents due to me being so unwell and having major operations in first couple of years of my life but for me personally the memories were great, the strange thing is i can still remember the nurses and surgeons that kept me alive, i can still smell the wonderful bacon and eggs that i used to have for breakfast in hospital in the late 70's i even remember there was another child who i think was in hospital almost as much as me but i cannot remember the name or anything, on another note though i remember my nurse leaving me alone for a little while and i climbed out the window on the 2nd or 3rd floor and gave everyone a panic attack and the time my nurse bought a calender or something that she had been struggling to find and had searched many shops and many weeks trying to find it, she left it on her desk and i got hold of it and ripped it up (lol) she was pretty devastated, but i was only about 3 and a bit of a terror :).

Most important memories of all though is my late father used to take me down to the local park where we used to have loads of fun and we used to pop into the greengrocers on the way to buy some plums, these are great memories to hold onto, i think i was about 8 or 9 at the time?

I can still remember my first computer which was an Atari 2600, ok im showing my age now but how many of you readers have actually heard or remember this great machine???

I know this is a slim chance but if any of you were born in the 70's and were in the Royal Alexandra Hospital for most of your young lives or you know anyone that was, please let me know, also ANYONE else that was born with a lot of problems at birth, if you are reading this please get in touch it would be great to hear from you and see how it has affected your lives etc, NOT only am i doing this blog as a sort of diary but i am hoping to make new friends from around the world.

Hope you all have a fantastic day
Phil.
